Crock-n-Roll Studio

Ceramic Painting in Saxmundham!

For Crock-n-Roll Studio,
The time has come for me to go.
My 18 months on Sax High Street
have really been a special treat!
I've made new friends, had lots of fun,
and I hope that everyone
has had as good a time as I.
But just before I say goodbye,
I'd like to say a big "THANK YOU!"
to all that spent an hour or two
painting feet, or hands, or paws...
gifts galore, whatever cause.
I really have loved being a part
of Saxmundham's offbeat heart.
I hope you have enjoyed my stay -
I may be back again one day.

Crock-n-Roll Studio closed on Saturday 2nd September, however I hope to be able to run as a mobile operation
at some point in the future...

Welcome to Crock-n-Roll Studio, a bright and cheerful ceramic painting studio in the heart of the lovely market town of Saxmundham in Suffolk, where you can come and while away an hour or several, getting in touch with your creative side!

No special skills or talent are required (if you’re not confident with a paintbrush, you can use your fingers!), and there are always tools and techniques available to help you create your own unique and personal works of art! Once you have finished creating your masterpiece, it will then be glazed and fired in our kiln, making it shiny and food-safe!

As the glazing and firing process can take at least a week to complete (PLEASE SEE 'Important Information' ON THE NEWS PAGE), for those who cannot wait, we offer an alternative activity in the form of Decopatch, which uses special brightly coloured and patterned paper and glue. Decopatch creations can be taken home on the day they are made!

There are also plans for other options such as using acrylic paints (items painted with acrylic paints cannot be glazed, and are therefore not food-safe). These will also be able to be taken home the same day.

I have a pretty extensive, ever-changing stock of ceramics to choose from, and possibly the largest selection of paint colours in East Anglia! (It's suggested that we have 28-30 colours... I have over 100!)

Decorated in classic 1950s style, Crock-n-Roll Studio aims to provide a relaxed and fun atmosphere in which to create.

Although not a café, basic refreshments are available to purchase should you feel the need!
